Holy Flying Pumpkins!

Hi, it’s me again! (Who else would it be, lol) I have big news to share! You know how I like writing things? And how I’m aspiring to be a published author? Well…I now have a short story published! It’s in an anthology called “Holy Flying Pumpkins” (hence the title) that was put together by the great writing community that I’m in, Legendfiction. You should go check it out! Here’s the link:  https://legendfiction.com/ My story is called “Halloween Knight”. It’s about twin siblings Yuri and Yori (confusing names, I know 😅) who accidentally let monsters steal something important, forcing the Halloween Knight to come and save Halloween again. If you decide to read it, please tell me how you like it! As always, stay sweet! Sweetscribe 🍬🖋️

My Favorites Shelf

Image
Hi everyone!  Sweetscribe here, (who else would it be?) and I want to wish you a late Valentine’s Day! So here are some hearts for you: <3❤💗💖💛 Okay, now down to business. Have you ever had a favorite book? Yes? (It’s okay if you haven’t, because I understand. It’s also okay if you’ve had too many to choose, because I understand that SOO MUCH.) Have you ever had a favorite series?? Yes? Now, have you ever had a favorites shelf? It’s okay if you don’t, because I have one and I will share it with you. What are friends for, right? So, my idea for this post is that I will review one of the books on my favorites shelf. And I will try to make you like it so much that you add it to your own favorites shelf!! Book Number One: The Great Greene Heist , by Varian Johnson. Okay, I’m not going to lie, I don’t usually gravitate toward contemporary books. However! This book blew my mind. Not a single word, or chapter for that matter, is wasted. And this author definitely used the “show...

Wingless: A Short Story

Image
Here is a short story I made about two years back. It's about two fairies and their friendship as they face punishment for certain rash actions. I hope you enjoy it! Wingless By: SweetScribe “I don’t know how you talked me into this, Felicity,” Felix muttered under his breath. He edged his way slowly towards the fairy in question. “Yet you’re still here, sneaking into the Moonlit Observatory with me, so that has to mean something!” Felicity pointed out in a silent singsong. Felix rolled his eyes. He wished they both had their wings back. Then they could just fly, like normal fairies. But no, Felicity had had to drag him into another outrageous plan, which got them the punishment of a month without wings. And now they were tip-toeing across the outside ledge of the Moonlit Observatory, hundreds of human feet above the ground! Felix stepped forward carefully. His head was filled with so many reasons to be anywhere but there. Suddenly, Felicity’s breathless gasp was all his pointed ...

River Moss and her Shadow

She didn't know where she was. Was she up, was she down? It was so hard to know. All she knew was that she was not supposed to be here. "River Moss, " a voice said from somewhere in the dark place. "What are you doing in here? I thought I told you that this place wasn't for mortals." River Moss , she thought. That's my name. How does that person know my name? "Who are you?" River called into the darkness. The voice laughed unbelievingly. "You don't remember? For real?" The laugh turned darker, more sinister. "Ah, this is perfect. I'm your shadow twin, River." "Shadow twin?" River repeated hesitantly. "What's that?" "It doesn't matter. All that matters is that you're going to get what you give, finally ." The voice was ragged with rage. "You might not remember me, River Moss, but I remember you ." Suddenly, right in front of River, appeared a girl's face. She wa...

A Sad Poem

Image
Image from Unsplash  Hello, everyone! Today, I have a sad poem for you. It is a pantoum, just so you know. (Do you remember what a pantoum is? If not, we discussed it in the previous blog post. Go check it out!) Just a disclaimer, this poem is not actually about me. It is just a sad poem. One last note, I'm not completely satisfied with the title, so if you have any suggestions that would be great. Otherwise, enjoy! Deadly Secrets By SweetScribe I didn't know, You never told me. I'm sorry. I wish I knew. You never told me The crushing secret. I wish I knew, I would've helped keep it. The crushing secret That eventually crushed you. I would've helped keep it! I've been crushed too. That, eventually, crushed you. You died in my arms. I've been crushed too. That day, I died in part. You died in my arms From the weight of that thing. That day, I died in part From the weightlessness of you. From the weight of that thing, There's no wonder it destroyed you. Fr...

A Poem about Thanksgiving

Image
Hello, everyone! Thanksgiving is coming up, and to celebrate I wrote a poem about it. This poem is also in thanksgiving for this blog. I hope you enjoy it! Grateful Am I to be With friends And family. Am I to be Sad or reserved With family? That defeats the purpose. Sad or reserved, Relatives wander. That defeats the purpose, And time we squander. Relatives wander, Mumbling weakly. And much time we squander In such a useless pattern. Mumbling weakly, I speak, Breaking a useless pattern. I'll make this Thanksgiving unique. I speak, Engaging my kin. This Thanksgiving's unique. No one's left out. Engaging my kin, We eat our feast. No one's left out, Not the greatest nor the least. We eat our feast With friends. The greatest and the least, Grateful. This poem is a pantoum, which is a kind of poem that doesn't have to rhyme (but I took the time to make it rhyme anyways, lol). Notice the alternating pattern? Pantoums are a very fun and clever kind of poem. Stay sweet! --S...
