A Poem about Thanksgiving
Hello, everyone!
Thanksgiving is coming up, and to celebrate I wrote a poem about it. This poem is also in thanksgiving for this blog. I hope you enjoy it!
Grateful
Am I to be
With friends
And family.
Am I to be
Sad or reserved
With family?
That defeats the purpose.
Sad or reserved,
Relatives wander.
That defeats the purpose,
And time we squander.
Relatives wander,
Mumbling weakly.
And much time we squander
In such a useless pattern.
Mumbling weakly,
I speak,
Breaking a useless pattern.
I'll make this Thanksgiving unique.
I speak,
Engaging my kin.
This Thanksgiving's unique.
No one's left out.
Engaging my kin,
We eat our feast.
No one's left out,
Not the greatest nor the least.
We eat our feast
With friends.
The greatest and the least,
Grateful.
This poem is a pantoum, which is a kind of poem that doesn't have to rhyme (but I took the time to make it rhyme anyways, lol). Notice the alternating pattern? Pantoums are a very fun and clever kind of poem.
Stay sweet!
